Larped Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

Larped is operated by Volux Co. Pty Ltd ("Volux", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when you use the Larped mobile app, website, support channels, and related services.

By using Larped, you agree to the handling of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you create or use a Larped account, we may collect:

  • email address and authentication information;
  • username, display name, bio, avatar, profile colour, and profile settings;
  • TikTok and Instagram handles if you choose to add them;
  • account identifiers used to operate your account securely.

Content and social activity

Larped is a social app. We collect and store content and activity you create or interact with, including:

  • photos you upload for larps or avatars;
  • captions, posts, comments, replies, likes, follows, blocks, and reports;
  • collection items, item names, categories, rarity, XP, levels, streaks, league status, and related gameplay progress;
  • timestamps and other metadata needed to show feeds, profiles, notifications, and leaderboards.

Some of this information is visible to other users, including your username, display name, avatar, bio, social handles, public profile, posts, larp photos, captions, comments, likes, XP, level, streaks, league information, and other public activity.

Photos, camera access, and image processing

Larped asks for camera or photo access only so you can capture or upload larps and profile avatars. When you submit a larp, the photo is uploaded to our backend and processed to identify the item, category, rarity, and XP.

To operate this feature, we may process the uploaded image using third-party AI services. You should avoid uploading photos that contain sensitive personal information, private documents, payment cards, medical information, or other people’s private information.

We may generate and store technical image data, such as a photo hash, to prevent duplicate-photo XP farming and protect the integrity of the game.

Subscription and purchase information

If you purchase Larp Pass or another in-app purchase, payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

We may receive and store information needed to confirm and manage your subscription, such as subscription status, product identifier, transaction-related identifiers, and whether your account has Larp Pass benefits.

Device and technical information

We may collect technical information needed to operate and secure the service, including:

  • device timezone, used to reset your daily larp limit at local midnight;
  • app version, device type, operating system information, IP address, request logs, and error logs;
  • security and abuse-prevention information.

Larped does not currently use third-party advertising trackers or sell personal information.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • create, authenticate, and manage accounts;
  • operate profiles, feeds, comments, follows, notifications, collections, leagues, XP, streaks, and Larp Pass;
  • process photos to identify larps and assign category, rarity, and XP;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate-photo XP farming, spam, and unsafe behaviour;
  • provide support and respond to user requests;
  • improve reliability, security, and performance;
  • comply with legal obligations and App Store requirements.

How Information Is Shared

We may share information in the following ways:

With other Larped users

Public profile information and social content are visible inside Larped. This includes information such as usernames, avatars, bios, social handles, posts, larp photos, captions, comments, likes, follows, XP, levels, streaks, collections, and league information.

With service providers

We use trusted service providers to operate Larped, including providers for:

  • authentication, database, file storage, and backend services;
  • AI image identification;
  • Apple in-app purchases and subscription management;
  • support, hosting, infrastructure, logging, and security.

These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us.

For legal, safety, and security reasons

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, regulation, or a valid government request. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, prevent fraud, or protect the rights, property, and safety of Volux, Larped, users, or others.

Business transfers

If Larped or Volux is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

International Processing

Larped may process and store information in Australia and other countries where we or our service providers operate. These countries may have privacy laws different from those in your location. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Larped, maintain your account, operate the social and game features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the service.

You can delete some content in the app, such as your own posts, comments, and profile information. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify account information and associated stored photos where reasonably possible, subject to backup, legal, security, and abuse-prevention retention needs.

Some public or social interactions may remain visible if they are part of another user’s content or if retention is required for safety, moderation, legal, or integrity reasons.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information.

You can:

  • edit your profile information in the app;
  • delete your own posts or comments where the app provides that option;
  • block or report users and content;
  • manage or cancel Larp Pass through your Apple account subscription settings;
  • request account deletion from within the app;
  • contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help.

We may need to verify your identity before responding to certain requests.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information, including authentication controls, access restrictions, row-level database security, service-role-only backend operations for XP-granting actions, and storage controls.

No internet or mobile service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for choosing carefully what you post publicly.

Children

Larped is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Larped, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice in the app or through other reasonable means.
